Conference Overview

The International Conference on Microelectronic Systems Education (MSE 2007) is dedicated to furthering undergraduate and graduate education in designing and building innovative microelectronic systems.

The conference is held in the U.S. on odd years, and in Europe on even years, when it is called the European Workshop on Microelectronics Education. This conference provides an excellent opportunity for educators and industry to work together to ensure continued excellence in the field of microelectronic systems.

Featured Topics:

  • Embedded systems design: homeland security, consumer, and industrial applications

  • Entrepreneurship in microelectronic systems design

Papers are invited for the following categories:

  • Educational techniques: novel curricula and laboratories, distance learning, textbooks, design projects

  • Industry involvement

  • Preparing students for industry and entrepreneurship

  • Educational infrastructure: design and IP libraries, CAD tool access

  • Embedded systems education: embedded processors, multi-processors, integrated DSP, and SOC

Invited Speakers

Mr. Shay Benchorin, Synopsys Business Development Director
Dr. Ivo Bolsens, Xilinx Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Stephen Brown, Altera Researcher and Univ. of Toronto Professor
Dr. Pieter Mosterman, Mathworks Senior Research Scientist
Dr. Andrzej Rucinski, University of New Hampshire Professor
Dr. Stewart Tansley, Microsoft External Research Program Manager

Free Tutorials on Saturday, June 2

Synopsys, Synplicity and Cypress will present tutorials for professors on the day before the conference. There is no charge for MSE registrants.

FINAL PROGRAM

Program Overview

The first day of the conference will include invited speakers, contributed papers, and two poster sessions with buffet meals. The second day will include invited speakers and contributed papers. The conference will close mid-day on Monday, so that registrants can take advantage of the extensive exhibits at the Design Automation Conference, held at the San Diego Convention Center, at no additional charge.

Demos at Univ. Booth on Monday, June 4
Demonstrations of EDA tools, design projects, and instructional materials will be held in the SIGDA University Booth during DAC. Extended registration deadline: May 8, 2007.
