CYFI™ Professor’s Workshop

Technical Tutorial with Hands-on Labs 8:30 – Noon July 25th

Abstract:

PSoC® is a mixed signal programmable system on a chip combining the familiarity of a microcontroller, the digital programmability of a CPLD and the analog capabilities of a high performance FPAA.

CYFI is the combination of PSoC, SNP protocol firmware and a low power, reliable 2.4 GHz radio from Cypress.

This hands-on tutorial introduces CYFI, describes its usages and design flow with illustrative examples. All attendees will receive a CYFI CY3271FTK development kit. The latest version of PSoC Designer, PSoC Programmer, and the Sense and Control Dashboard can be downloaded and installed from www.cypress.com.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own laptops to the tutorial. We will also have CDs available at the workshop.

This session is aimed at engineering professors from all disciplines that require an element of electronic sensing and control in the lab sections of the subjects they teach. In addition to wireless, digital, analog, embedded design and microcontroller classes, other classes that can benefit from the addition of PSoC to the curricula are: Robotics, Mechatronics, Biomedical, and Industrial Controls to name just a few. Time permitting we will present a PSoC next gen overview.
